Battling the winter
The winter in 2020 was unusually harsh for several families. During these cold spells, members and volunteers of the Mercy Home worked with Pastor Sarwar to help several marginalised families from Faisalabad battle the cold temperatures.
Mercy Home provided several poor families with bed linens, quilts and blankets to sleep well in the freezing temperatures. To help these families, these members and volunteers searched for quality linens and beddings that would sustain in cold weather throughout various shops across the city of Faisalabad. Mr Ijaz and Mr Javed were given the responsibility to look for and purchase these items.
Meanwhile, Pastor Sarwar talked to several families and isolated a group of 25 families who were so poor that they couldn’t offer proper bed linens and beddings. Mercy Home then further assessed the list of families that needed support.
Mercy Home team members and Pastor Sarwar selected a place where all families were called to celebrate Christmas festivities. Here these families were handed over the bed linens and beddings as gifts.
